I am from the Kijicho-Manitou Madaouskarini Algonquin Nation in Bancroft, Ontario, and have been picking up the pieces of my culture over the past 25 years. Our history is unique and we are still learning about the Algonquin ways. We are always working to improve conditions in our community and surrounding areas. I believe through ART, we can connect all people. Seeing ART, Creating ART or both..it’s a healing process and unique to each person.
I enjoy painting with Acrylic on Canvas, Digital Paintings, Oil, Pencil and Crafting. I have always enjoyed the Creative process and will always take on a new challenge if it is an ARTFORM.
I share an important teaching about our communities, pre-contact and after. It is done with ‘stones’..representing our beautiful people . It is about the effects of residential school in a very respectful and powerful way. I also share a ‘talking stick’ workshop and it’s a great tool to learn respectful communication and be creative.www.jamesfineartcollection.com
