Laura Fauchon

I  am originally from the Peepeekisses First Nation in Saskatchewan. I am Cree/Saulteaux and have lived in Ontario for the past three years. I currently live in Petawawa, Ontario.

I am a military Mother. I have always been involved in the creative world at some level. I have always either drawn or painted. I am a self taught artist with a gift from the Creator that is to be used to help and heal others at some level. I am a visual storyteller who paints as celebration to our rich culture. I paint using bold, bright colors to reflect our history.

I believe our trauma can turned into something beautiful through art. My teachers have been my family who are artists, dancers, actors and storytellers. The gift of creativeness has healed and continues to heal our family and community. I work with families at risk and utilise the creative in my work as well. I am blessed to be a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. I am a knowledge keeper in my community.
