Onondaga First Nation
David Farnham is a sculptor and carver from Onondaga First Nation, part of the Iroquois Confederacy. David was born in 1948 on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada and is from the Beaver Clan.
Although David was always exposed to art, he did not begin creating his own work until he was 50. Soapstone, a traditional medium for his Nation became his material of choice. He creates sculptures depicting traditional Iroquois life such as "The Three Sisters" (corn, beans and squash), false face masks, eagles, bears and otters.
